I saw this little pot of flowers waiting to be taken home and planted.
Sadly, I concluded that I didn’t have room in the garden for them, so I am sharing them with you instead. Their bright cheerfulness lifted my day.

Emotography Week 45
Surprise
I was surprised to find these interesting patterns in the paling fence in my backyard.
If I “open my eyes”,
Perhaps I will see
The things of beauty
that lie around me.
“Normal” and “everyday”
Though they appear
I may be happily surprised
If I take myself near.
Emotography Week 37
DECEPTION
From a distance I thought this was a lovely bush of lilac-coloured flowers. On closer inspection I saw it as it really is: a generous bunching of seed heads.
But it still looked pretty!
Daffy-Do
Hippy-ho
And welly-do
Daffies are out
And I am too!
They all dance
And so shall I,
Till the sun’s asleep
In the evening sky!
Emptography Week 21
Wonder
Sometimes the most unexpected things suddenly catch my eye and cause me to wonder at the creations of Nature, both small and large.
This week for instance, I saw a lovely pattern of shadows of a fence running up a hillside, a beautiful sprinkling of raindrop crystals on the ends of all the branches of a pine tree.
Then there was this piece of mandarin peel, which was in the shape of a leaf and has the interesting interior of a piece of delicate crochet work.
How generous Nature is to bestow such unexpected “discoveries” on us.
Emotography Week 20
Appreciation
This photo is probably technically all wrong, but I was struck with the beauty of the light in the scene.
The sheep are outlined with light, the branches of the deciduous shrub has
light tangled in its bare branches and the small pond has been silvered with light, even the tiny plants reflected in the water have been touched by the power of light to meld them into the water colour more effectively. Whilst on the surface diamonds have caught the light and thrown it back to the skies from whence it came.
I truly appreciated the difference in this scene, which I have walked by many times, that light had brought to it.
Emotography Week 18
Jeweler’s Window
I walked into this store
To shelter from the rain.
The wares it showed were lovely,
So I went back again.
My currency was useless!
There was no price to pay:
For rain and sun had gifted
Free jewels on this day.
{PS, I especially liked the “pendant”, photo centre}
Emotography Week 14
Lacy friends
Quote
“Good friends are like fine lace around the edges of
life’s relationships”
Evening Glory
Tonight the sky was full of flame,
The colours too bright for me to name;
But glory filled my heart and my eyes
Reflected back from the wondrous skies!
