Time Stitches

Ragged edges of time
Surrounding my day,
That I try to hold onto
As they unravel away.
Loose threads of moments
Lie unused on the floor,
As my feet step across them
To the beckoning door.
And the sunshine that calls me
To spend time among the flowers
With fine disregard
Of the hastening hours.
Yet though ragged the edges
Of my time-ravaged day,
The centre is re-stitched
In a beautiful way.
